My story
I’m Ashton Scott, a sixteen-year-old passionate about capturing the world through a lens.
My journey into photography began at thirteen, sparked by a school project that quickly turned into a lasting fascination. With the guidance of mentor Richard Brimmer, I learned not just the technical side of a camera but also the art of seeing—understanding light, composition, and the stories within each frame.
In 2023, I worked at Lowe Corp Tannery, saving for my first camera and equipment, driven by a deep
appreciation for the technical side of photography. That same year, I joined the Hawkes Bay Rowing Club as a novice rower, opening up new opportunities to refine my skills in sports photography. Freezing moments in time and sharing them with others has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my craft.
Beyond photography, I am drawn to creative challenges—bringing vision to life through planning, patience, and precision.
